Why I Love Working for DeKalb Medical

For Valerie Campbell B.S.N., R.N.-B.C., making sure patient care is first and foremost is a personal mission and one of the main reasons she loves to work for DeKalb Medical. The Nursing Clinical Coordinator on the 3200 Med/Surg unit at North Decatur began working for DeKalb Medical when Hillandale opened and then transferred to the main campus. “Working with excellent nurses in our ER, at Hillandale and now on 3200 has helped me maintain my walk in nursing care,” shares Campbell.

Even after 20 years in the profession, the Center for Nursing Practice (CNP) Fellow says she continues to grow her skills at DeKalb Medical. Campbell says the professionalism of the CNP leadership, and the opportunity to come together to make the System better as a whole keeps her job exciting and satisfying.

DeKalb Medical’s continued commitment to helping nurses maximize their careers and showcase their leadership skills is a legacy Campbell is proud to be a part of. “I give God all the honor and appreciation for my accomplishments in life,” adds Campbell, who recently obtained her Medical/Surgical certification  from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
